We were all especially excited to arrive at Beesands late on an October evening . We had finally managed to arrange a trip to coincide with a gig at the Pigs Nose.
Not to everybody’s taste as it can be described as slightly eccentric ,the Pigs Nose is a traditional pub in the village of East Prawle dating back over 200 years. Steeped in history from Victorian hotel to a smugglers Inn it is owned today by a family with had once owned a hire and music rehearsal studio. This contact with various bands plus the adjoining hall has led to the pub to become an active as well as remote music venue with a packed event calendar .
Our memories of autumnal happiness sitting in front of the open fire with a handful of chestnuts courtesy of the landlord, are enough for as all to feel that a trip to the Pigs Nose is a necessity.
A chance to dress up in 60’s attire was also irresistible so my Sister and two daughters enjoyed a fabulous night in East Prawle singing and dancing to the sounds of Swinging Blue Jeans and their fantastic support band. Even if my younger daughter was slightly embarrassed it will definitely be an evening we will be repeating soon.
