Its only a week to go until our family get together in Beesands and we can’t wait. The old fashioned British charm of South Hams that you feel instantly as you turn off the busy A38 and start heading through Totnes and to the ever increasing tangled web of country lanes is a liberating and refreshing experience . The world just slows down and people have no choice but to slow down with it . You realise that there really is no rush and you can spend time enjoying the rolling green hills as you trace the thick hedgerows down towards the sea. Fingers crossed this will never change and this small part of Britain will actually remain in a time warp nevertheless with the advantages of fast WIFI and excellent restaurants!
I’m really excited about my brother Richard making his first visit to Beesands with his wife Helen and daughter Katrina. I know he will love the dramatic coastal walks, fresh fish at Britannia , real Ale at the Cricket and the birds and wild life. It will be a welcome break after Katrinas A levels and she will be driving past Exeter University which she starts in September. Megan and Josh are also excited about their break they always love the freedom they feel .
This is our first time here over the bank holiday and we will start our week at Dartmouth Regatta on Saturday.
Fingers crossed that we escape too much traffic on the A303
