The sleepy village of Slapton sometimes gets forgotten for the beaches and historic Torcross below. On this beautiful October day we decided to have a look around . You can either park in the middle Slapton Sands Car Park or in the lay-by half way up the road from the A379 signposted Slapton.
As you walk up the road towards the church and centre you will immediately be struck by the variety of architecture and the warmth of this village. The magnificent church dominates and offers a focal point both visually and for the community. Equalled by not one but two pubs . The Tower Inn has consistently been given excellent write ups by our guests so we choose this pub for lunch. We were delighted by this hidden gem and enjoyed delicious meals, ale and atmosphere. Walking back to the car we saw beauty around every corner that often gets missed when you squeeze your 21st century car through the tiny 18th century roads of Slapton.
